The Prevention of Terrorism Act 2005 means people in Britain can be detained without trial; even without being told the crime of which they are accused. So much for an 800 year tradition of liberty in a country which now has more in common with Myanmar or North Korea (liberty-wise) than the rest of the English-speaking world. © Tom Paine 2006.
