BOO, INTERVIEWED ON "DESIGNING WORLDS"
Our founder and CEO Boo Rojyo appeared recently on the weekly TV programme Designing Worlds. It's a show about design and designers in Virtual Worlds. Boo was interviewed on our lovely stand at SL18B by Saffia Widdershins, whom many of you know from the "Meet the Lindens" interviews at SL events. Fenella picked her up on radar going by at SL18B and shouted an invitation to visit. They had a chat about the BBB, which led to Saffia inviting Boo to appear.
The interview features in the second of two special editions about SL18B, focussing on resident exhibits. The BBB segment begins at 32 minutes in.
Those of you who spent time with us in our "secret garden" will enjoy seeing it again. There's also a lovely aerial shot at one hour and one minute in as part of a sequence of photos of resident builds. That sequence brought home just how vast SL18B was this year and made your editor sad to realise just how much of it she missed.
We are glad the word continues to get out about the BBB and the work we do to bring bureaucratic fun (and in the case of Mr Beeb, authentic bureaucratic misery) into the life of SL. Well done, boss and thank you, Saffia! Fenella is glad she overcame her English reserve to shout at you!
BJOYFUL AND GHOST
Two of our colleagues here at the BBB are facing challenges in RL. Sadly, BJoyful, who was the landowner at the six Scottish-themed regions of Campbell Coast and a tireless campaigner for the regeneration of the SL mainland, has serious health problems. She has had to sell the Campbell Coast ownership group, but we understand the new owner – himself a Campbell Coast resident – is committed to the concept. We hope so, as it's lovely.
Everyone who knows BJoyful will tell you she is one of the kindest, most enthusiastic and most delightful people in Second Life. She has never failed to give her colleagues, friends, tenants and even passing acquaintances an encouraging word or a hug when needed. It's our turn to hug her now and send her words of support. All of us at the BBB wish her the best possible outcome and hope to see her back in SL doing her thing as only she does.
We also send our best wishes to our colleague Ghost, who is taking a break from SL to care for family with health problems. If you're reading this Ghost, our thoughts are with you and we hope to see you back soon. As a Ghost, you don't need anyone to keep your seat at the BBB warm, but it's here for you whenever you're ready. We miss you.
CUSTOMER SERVICE SURVEY
We urge you to complete our Customer Service Questionnaire in the sidebar and to encourage your friends to do so. The replies we have had so far give interesting insights – for example – as to how you found your way to the BBB in the first place. The more of you who fill out the online form (it only takes a couple of minutes) the more useful it will be.
Our thanks to those of you who have completed it already. Any real-life enterprise would be proud of the approval ratings so far! Any real-life bureaucracy would be indifferent.
TWO STAMPS RETIRED | FOUR NEW STAMPS
Two stamp terminals were retired this week. Vegas in the Sky and Circus Circus. If you don't have those stamps, alas, you have missed your chance. The Online Travel Guide has already been updated. Let that encourage you to seek out this week's new locations without delay! Two of them are on the Campbell Coast: a cafe and an aerodrome. Another new location this week is a Water Park at the Bellisseria Fairgrounds. That's a special event, which is already open and runs until August 31st, so pick the stamp up quickly! Finally, an old location returns in a new place and form. The Platypus Beach House is now in a stilt home and you'll find the terminal as a plaque on the wall.
Photographs, SLURLs and stamp images for all the new locations are below and you will be able to find them soon in the Online Travel Guide (link in the sidebar). As always, click on any image to enlarge it.
