Look at those dots!

We truly outdid ourselves with our SL21B Waterworks Exhibit this year, hosting an unforgettable Stamp Party that brought together Lindens, Moles, and enthusiastic stamp collectors for celebration and camaraderie. The event was a highlight of our SL21B, creating a unique opportunity for residents to interact with Linden Lab employees in a fun and festive atmosphere.

Excitement was palpable as stamp collectors, both seasoned and new, gathered to collect their prized stamps and exchange stories of their collections. The Waterworks Exhibit provided the perfect backdrop for this gathering, with its stunning aquatic-themed décor adding a touch of magic. Collectors were thrilled to meet Lindens and Moles, who were more than happy to join in the festivities; dancing and sharing in the joy of stamp collecting.

The event saw participation from various groups, including Second Life Mentors, Bellisseria Mentors, and SL21B Greeters, all of whom added to the lively atmosphere. Everyone had a great time. The enthusiasm of our stamp collectors was contagious, inspiring even more residents to dive into the world of stamp collecting.

One of the standout features of the event was how effortless our bureaucrats made it for newcomers to get started with stamp collecting. Right on site at the exhibit, residents could obtain their passports and begin their collecting journey immediately. The ease and accessibility of the process saw new collectors emerge, eager to explore the vast world of Second Life stamps.

Adding to the excitement, DJ Frank Atisso kept the partygoers wildly entertained, ensuring the energy never dipped and everyone was on their feet dancing. While our later performer, Shantu, was unable to be there due to unforeseen circumstances, Amanda Tamatzui made up for it by creating two beautiful stamps for our collectors.

A special thanks goes to Amanda for her exceptional efforts in planning and organizing the event. Her dedication and hard work were instrumental in making the Stamp Party a resounding success. Additionally, a big thank you to Derrick Linden, whose assistance in coordinating with Linden Lab employees ensured a fantastic turnout of Lindens and Moles, much to the delight of the attendees.

Many Lindens and Moles, including Derrick Linden, Keira Linden, Abnor Mole, Alotta Mole, Viola Mole, Brigantia Mole, Chronos Mole, Dion Mole, Star Mole, Donald Mole, Dreaming Mole, Justa Mole, Mini Mole, Moonstruck Mole, and Spiffy Mole graced us with their presence. Their participation added a special touch to the festivities, making it memorable for all.

The stamp collectors' community is at the heart of all we do, and events like these are our way of giving back and celebrating the passion and dedication of our residents. Thank you to all the collectors who joined us at the SL21B Waterworks Exhibit. Your enthusiasm and love for stamp collecting made the event truly special.

Here's to many more stamps, memories, and joyful gatherings in the future!

WELCOME OUR NEW MODERATOR – ELY

Ely's Profile Pic

Please welcome Elysiane (elysiane.sapphire) who has joined our team of bureaucrats. Her role is to moderate our BBBug group chats. She's best known in SL as a creator of ladies' clothing and home and garden items. She's owned several stores since 2013. She loves music, especially deep house, lounge and chill, and loves to go dancing in SL. Ely has been a Lifetime Premium Plus Member since 2023.

Asked her what brought her to the BBB, she told The Gazette;

I have always appreciated the beauty of Bellisseria itself and enjoyed traveling throughout it; especially when I became involved in stamping. Through that, I came to know more about the BBB and how it serves SL's residents and creatively promotes the community and its diversity. First being able to host a stamp myself (at my E.S. Gallery), then to donate a gift and actively attend many activities during the 5th birthday of the BBB led to my becoming more involved and being offered the chance to be your new Moderator and I couldn't be more thrilled!

Asked what it is about  her that makes her a good moderator, she replied;

I like helping people and I talking to them about their interests, their projects, and what they do for fun. I never cease to be amazed by the creativity of people in SL. Bellisserians have a joy in their community which is endlessly engaging and I just enjoy being a part of that!

Asked to tell us one thing about her that no-one in SL knows, she said;

I am a huge film geek and fan of classic films of all eras and many countries but particularly from the 1930's & 1940's. I collect as many as I can get my hands on and especially anything which features my favorite actor, Humphrey Bogart. Anyone who wants to talk film or Hollywood history, hit me up!

NEW LOCATIONS

The Bellisseria Hamsters are at it again. Do any other residents organise more events in Bellisseria than they do? This time it's their annual water-park event, with wet and splashy fun for all the family. Cool your jets this Summer with help from the super-cool Hammies.

Art Gallerist Zoey Rhodan is staging another special exhibition at her Black Tulip Gallery. The launch party is on Sunday at 1pm and there's a special stamp for the occasion.

The BBB has some real Apollo Program fanboys on our staff (naming no names, but you can probably guess). So we're excited to celebrate the anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing with a special event stamp issued by the National Space Society in SL.

Please note that event stamps like the three above are announced in the last issue of the Gazette before the event. The stamps may not actually be in place until the event's start date.

Our final new location this week is a permanent one, which is of great importance to SL sailors. Bryggen is the region that connects the Blake Sea to the Second Norway estate so its harbour is a place many of us will have sailed to or from. Bryggen Harbour is now issuing its own stamp for your passport.

Wonderful article Liberty and it was truly a fun event for me!
I have never seen Derrick dancing before so that was a plus point. :D

The Hammies are super cute and it is wonderful they organise so many fun events for their friends and fans!

I am surprised but should not be, that there is an NSS in SL! Wooot. The gazette is not just fun but very informative. Perhaps we can have a 'Interview with a Belli Citizen' section for a few weeks? Readers may share the names of a few they would want to read about? :P (And no, I am not volunteering to do the interviews as I do not think I am a good news writer.)

Thank you kindly, gentlemen.

Yet another smash edition of the Gazette. Great work, Dave and Liberty. And I hope the Moles and Lindens see the "BIG THANK YOU" for their participation in the SSiD stamps.

Reg. NSS: oh yes, space buffs we are. Thanks to Roy Sutton / Ariel Miranda of ISM / NSS in SL

Is that the biggest edition of the Gazette yet? Congrats all involved!
