OUT & ABOUT WITH LIBERTY FAIRELANDER: FISHING AT SL21B
Last Saturday evening, I had the pleasure of attending the Northern Operations exhibit at SL21B, where the excitement of the fishing competition drew in many enthusiastic anglers. The competition was fierce, with participants vying for exclusive trophies crafted just for the SL21B event. Trophies were awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in overall catches and the coveted whopper (largest catch) categories.
The star of the evening was Dylan Fairelander, who impressively clinched 1st place in both categories. Dylan's remarkable performance saw him reeling in a total of 165.69 lbs of fish, with his largest whopper weighing an astonishing 66.06 lbs. His dual whopper catches easily secured his top spot.
Not far behind, Dreamy Fairelander, Satori's new Ambassador, showcased her angling prowess, landing 2nd place in both categories. Dreamy caught a commendable 144.43 lbs of fish, with her largest whopper tipping the scales at 36.44 lbs. Her competitive spirit and skill were evident throughout the evening.
Faith14239 took 3rd place in the total catch category with a weight of 117.89 lbs, while Teraseta earned 3rd place in the whopper category with a 19.97 lb catch. Their impressive catches added to the excitement and camaraderie of the event.
The anglers spent the evening not just competing but also sharing their love for fishing, exchanging tips, and discussing the joys and benefits of the sport. Conversations flowed as easily as the virtual waters they were fishing in, with laughter and friendly banter creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
A special mention must be made of Dragon Ruby, the Northern Operations Game Warden, who hosted and ran the competition with great efficiency and enthusiasm. His dedication and expertise ensured that the event ran smoothly and that everyone had a fantastic time.
The Rain or Shine, You Can Always Fish exhibit itself is a testament to the joy and benefits of fishing, both in real life and in SL. The exhibit is ingeniously split into two distinct settings: one half depicting a sunny beach atmosphere and the other half showcasing a stormy sea with a rocking boat, thunderclouds, and lightning. This creative design by Northern Operations owner North Crannock and his partner Bebe Crannock highlights the diverse and immersive experiences that fishing can offer.
North Crannock, the mastermind behind the popular Northern Operations Gridwide Sport Fishing system, has once again demonstrated his talent for creating engaging and enjoyable experiences for the Second Life community. The exhibit not only entertains but also educates visitors on the health, mental, and social benefits of fishing.
Fishing is known to reduce stress, improve concentration, and foster social connections. Whether it's the tranquility of a sunny beach or the thrill of a stormy sea, fishing offers a unique escape and a chance to connect with nature and fellow anglers.
I highly encourage everyone to visit this fantastic exhibit and experience it for themselves. The Northern Operations exhibit "Rain or Shine, You Can Always Fish" is located at SL21B Enchant. You can explore this captivating display here. Don't miss out on the opportunity to enjoy some fishing fun and discover the many benefits it brings.
Happy fishing, and see you at the next competition!

New Ambassadors to Satori and Corsica appointed
We are delighted to announce the appointment, with immediate effect, of two new Bellisserian Ambassadors. Her Excellency Dreamy Fairelander will serve as honorary ambassador to Satori and Her Excellency Liberty Fairelander will serve as honorary ambassador to Corsica.
H.E. Liberty is well-know already to our readers as she serves as both a journalist and photographer for us in addition to her bureaucratic duties at the BBB. She told The Gazette;
I am deeply honored to be appointed Bellisserian Ambassador to Corsica, a place I've proudly called home for the past seven years. My home, Harmony Bay, is my labor of love and my gift to Second Life®, where I warmly welcome friends and strangers alike to share in its lovely atmosphere. Corsica holds a special place in my heart; its vibrant community and breathtaking landscapes have been a source of inspiration and joy.
I am excited to foster connections and celebrate the beauty and spirit of Corsica with all who visit.
H.E. Dreamy first ventured into Second Life®sixteen years ago and has been logging in regularly ever since.
She has been deeply involved in the community over the years; participating in the SL Cheerleading squad, serving as a Second Life Mentor, and showcasing her Ranch home in the Parade of Homes. Dreamy told The Gazette;
I am honored to have been appointed Satori Ambassador. I pledge to do my best to fulfill this role with grace and look forward to serving both Bellisseria and the fine continent of Satori and their residents.
We thank both ambassadors for taking on these responsibilities. We will announce details soon of the formal appointment ceremonies at which the keys of their embassies will be presented to them; followed by parties to celebrate. Look out for your invitations in the post!
The Bellisseria Diplomatic List in the sidebar has been updated to reflect the new appointments. If you are interested in serving as Hon. Ambassador for one of the continents with a vacancy (or would like to nominate someone else) please contact Bel (jezebel.bailey).

Here's your taxi.

Get those missing SL21B stamps!
Congratulations to our users who have already "got them all" at SL21B. It has not been easy. If you are still missing the personal stamps of any Moles or Lindens however, you still have one last chance before the event closes next week.
For the last two days of SL21B, the SSiD tablets of the Lindens and Moles will be on display at the BBB Waterworks. Don't miss your chance!
NEW LOCATIONS
We're happy to welcome quite a few permanent new locations this week. The first is a safe harbour on the Corsica Sea. Malibu Harbor in the Bleubry Region features a traditional Japanese zen gardens and Itsukushima water shrine.
Also in Corsica is the Frogtacular Museum, which boasts one of the largest Frog collections in SL. We're intrigued by that claim. Just how many frog collections are there in SL?! Do the frogs know they've been collected? Is a large community of wild frogs a self-collection? Anyway, go along and take a look.
Corsica's amphibian community also features at the Magical Frog Reading Bog #2 in the Delizmo region, which is a seasonal family hangout with a cozy atmosphere that hosts small events. In particular, it hosts ribbit readings and other stories and activities for the kid community but all are welcome.
Changing continents to Heterocera, we find Keysin's Bar in the Maia region. It opened in January of 2022 to create a place for Sergals and other creatures to hang out but everyone is welcome there. It's near the Sakura Way and Route 42. Cannery Cove was a stamp location a while back and the old stamp terminal is being brought out of retirement at a new location. So it belongs here in New Locations, but it's not a new stamp. Though of course any stamp you don't have is a new stamp, right?!
Finally there are two special stamps to be had from one event - Frank Sings Live at The Waterworks, which is the BBB's elemental build at SL21B. See Events & Announcements above for more details.
