The Hideaway
The Hideaway is a timeless, romantic, jazz bar high above Bellisseria. Cian and I decided to stop in one evening and have a look around. When you first arrive in the lobby, you come to a vintage elevator that takes you to the small jazz bar above the Bellisseria continent. The atmosphere transports you back in time to the age of Jazz lounge clubs at their finest. Their heyday peeking during the 1920s and 1930s.
As you step out of the elevator you take note of the coat check room, where a coat check girl would store your purses, bags, hats, and coats while you mingled into the room, found a seat, and began to enjoy the setting. Art deco lamps adorn the walls and tables, barely giving off enough light, which enables the mystery of this small lounge's secret atmosphere and namesake, The Hideaway. The tables at the windows give customers a bird's eye view of the lively city far below them, while a nearby fireplace crackles quietly, reminding them they are far removed from the world outside, hidden in this timeless venue of a bygone age.
The place would not be complete without the baby grand piano, where jazz artists play, or the ever-attentive bartender, Sebastian, waiting at your beck and call. So stop on by one evening, take a night on the town and step back in time, to an age gone, but recaptured for our enjoyment, here in Bellisseria.
Landmark to this Place of Interest: The Hideaway
So who owns the place, and do they live here on the houseboat?
Eavan owns the houseboat and the Hideaway magically floats in the clouds overhead. We do not live there, but we also have a Victorian home and a camper in Belli which are our residences.
What made you decide on this Linden Theme and Model?
Eavan was one of the lucky ones during the original Squishy Pickle release, and we lived in the houseboat for quite a while. When we had the idea for a sky lounge we decided the experience should begin as soon as you walked onto the houseboat. The Evening Star layout worked perfectly for the vintage elevator which will whisk patrons up to the Hideaway.
What inspirations did you draw on to decorate your place?
Much of the inspiration came from Eavan's experiences in RL. He had the vision and together with Mille the vision was brought to life. We were looking to create a very intimate atmosphere where one could relax, hold a conversation, and even dance if desired.
What is your favorite nook and feature of the Hideaway?
We often enjoy coffee and catching up with the latest news at the tables near the windows overlooking the continent of Bellisseria, as well as conversations at the bar. Many of the furnishings were chosen for their animations and interactive features like auto attach, such as the extensive bar menu, coffee system, and others. The Hideaway is that old-fashioned cozy bar we kept looking for in SL and never found, so we created it as much for ourselves as for the community!
Tell us something you'd like to share with our readers regarding your decorating enjoyment, living in Bellisseria, and your Place of Interest you've created for the public?
As a team we love working together to create environments for people to enjoy, particularly places to just sit and be sociable, relax, listen to music or just take in the vibe. Bellisseria is a wonderful part of SL, and it makes us happy to share the Hideaway with the community, it is what we love to do.
The Hideaway's owners are Eavan (eyecu2) and Mille (MilleBliss).
