Christmas Home of the Week – Nordic Narnia

This week’s featured Christmas “house” is actually a Holiday Houseboat. It is listed as “Nordic Narnia”. There is so much Christmas cheer that owner Sierra Nova managed to pack into this tiny space.

The houseboat’s roof is covered with snow and more snow falls gently on the boat itself. The roof is trimmed with festive Christmas lights, making for a lovely sight.

 

It looks like the boat ran into a small ice island (maybe the tip of an ice burg?) and got stuck on it. The owner made the best of the “accident” by putting out some decorations on the snow-covered ice,… including decorative deer, a candy cane, and a bench to sit on.

If you move inside, you will find yourself in a tiny but festive living room. There is a lighted wreath on the window, a deer head with candles in its antlers, and presents scattered on the floor. There is also a guest book, where you are invited to record your visit. And, of course, the room includes a fireplace – one that is perfect for a houseboat. It has a large wall-mounted mantle behind it, which is decorated in pine branches and a lighted wreath.

And, of course, this holiday houseboat has a Christmas tree, decorated in lights and blubs and all the trimmings. It is surrounded by gifts and is guarded by a Rumba Cat -- who patrols back and forth in front of the tree.

Finally, the kitchen is loaded with Christmas treats… cookies, a cake, tarts, and hot chocolate. The pink and white kitchen has a festive Christmas wallpaper with white snowflakes, pink holly, and pink candy canes.

If you visit with a friend, try out the Christmas “Chatterbox.” You can find it on the kitchen counter – touch it and it asks various questions like “Of all the gifts you received as a child, what was your favorite?” It is a great conversation starter and makes for a fun place to visit with a friend.

Christmas Home of the Week – Forgotten Road

This Grand View log cabin is the perfect spot for a Christmas getaway. It is tucked away along a creek, with no direct road access – thus the name “Forgotten Road.”

You will be greeted by gently falling snow, with a light dusting already covering the ground. The first thing you will probably notice is the cheerful Christmas lights that adorn the deck and exterior of the cabin. But as you look around, you will see that there is more to take in. For example, instead of putting the Christmas tree inside, it is on the deck. The tree is located right in front of the large picture windows, so it is still easily visible from the living room. And if you look to your right, you will find two winter fairies engaged in a snowball fight.

The interior also shouts “Christmas”. Stockings are hung on the fireplace mantle, just waiting for Santa to fill them with goodies. They are guarded by a red and white BBB Neighborhood Watch Bear, who sits on the mantle to keep a watchful eye over them. And the word “JOY” floats over the fireplace, reminding us to have fun this holiday season.

There are other Christmas decorations in the living room as well – such as a lighted Christmas star on the wall, an indoor plant decked with Christmas lights, a lovely poinsettia next to some candles. And there is a little table with gingerbread houses sitting just under a picture of Father Christmas.

Finally, the kitchen is loaded with all sorts of Christmas yummies. There is a tray of goodies on the counter … cream puffs, cookies, doughnuts, hot chocolate. There is a little table with a pie on it, and another pie on the kitchen table – a cozy two-seater for you and a friend.

This place has an overall cheerful-and-Chrismas feel, and I recommend that you come by visit it.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Time to hang up those Christmas stockings.

Bellisseria Holiday Decorated Homes Feature

Editors Note: Over the next few weeks, Teresa Firelight will be featuring some of the beautiful holiday-decorated homes from our Bellisseria Christmas Holiday Home Listing in her blog. This week she has selected the lovely home at 2019 Noel Lane.

Week 1 – 2019 Noel Lane

There are so many outstanding Christmas Decoration homes that it is hard to choose just one each week to feature in this article. But 2019 Noel Lane really stands out. It is a charming Doyle Victorian on it’s own private island, located at the foot of a lighthouse. Everything about this house shouts “Merry Christmas.” It has a snow dusted yard, complete with Christmas lights.

A friendly dog sits on the porch and the door is wide open, to invite visitors inside. You will step into a charming living room, with Christmas Pillows on the sofa, poinsettias on the end tables and festive Christmas candles on the coffee table. There is a gift laden Christmas tree in the window and two more modern trees on the wall. It has a cosey fireplace with a very unique Menorha on the mantle.

If you step into the kitchen, you will find freshly baked Christmas bread and pumpkin pie on the oven top, a set of decorative Christmas plates on the wall, and an inviting table for two that is laden with holiday cookies.

Every room in the house shouts Christmas. Enter the bedroom to find a cute Christmas quilt and pillow collection on the bed. There is a nightstand next to it with a stuffed snowman and wrapped Christmas gifts. The wallpaper is red with white snowflakes and there is a decorated Christmas Tree in the corner.

This is certainly a great place to get in the holiday mood.

Frosty the Snowman

I went to the SL18 Shop and Hop shopping mall and walked and shopped in many of the stores and came across these different style snowmen. You get two styles in the pack, 1 with white Christmas lights, the other with colored lights.

They cost 140 linden for the set of 2. I liked the expressions on the face and at only 2 land impact I was sold. As most things copy/mod I could make them bigger but found the prim count did go up slightly. I found them here at Fantasy Illumination in the Snowflake Region - Snowflake

They had some really cute garden items and with 30% discount, they were very well priced. I collected the Gift available over on the left-hand side of the store and saw it was a pretty wreath (now on my wall in my dining room) Here is my new snowman enjoying the snowy garden with some new friends.

Hope you find some exciting shopping deals at the Shop and Hop and come home laden with hundreds of new gifts and presents and new party clothes for the Holidays.

Decorators Find of the Week - 12.05.21

The Christmas Tree

I have decorated my home and started with the Christmas tree. I love a traditional pine tree with old-fashioned ornaments. I found a lot of beautiful trees, beautifully decorated but the better the quality the higher the land impact, till I discovered this tree from Abiss.

The tree has a texture change menu so you can choose a color palette to suit your room. I chose the delicate peachy shades listed as Platinum and added some extra presents, you can also have Red, Gold, Blue, and Purple. It has lovely decorations, swags of pearls, tinsel, candles, and a lit star on the top. Underneath the tree is an assortment of decorated parcels and a traditional skirt. All this detail and only 6 land impact. I have looked at many Christmas trees with less detail, but good quality and they can easily range between 20 - 30 land impact. When so many seasonal goodies to put out every prim is precious.

I found the tree on Market Place and went to look in-store. I found the tree on display but not a vendor to buy, so went ahead and purchased it on MP as I was happy with the tree. It costs 299 linden which is probably the most expensive Christmas item I will buy, but to be able to have 5 color options and such a low land impact I felt it was a good investment and won't be searching for years to come.
