I am here at the Fairgrounds this week and I was admiring the beautiful winter setting and saw this lovely street lamp from Schultz Bros. and wanted to share it with you.
It is called the Old New York street lamp and includes 2 street lamps - 1 with built in snow using the On/Off Hud. They are 2 land impact each and costs 199 Linden.
You can buy it here at Schultz - Schultz Bros Or come along to the Fairgrounds to see the lamp and meet everyone too.
This lovely feline (The Bellisseria Cat) found the lamp a warm place to sleep.
The BBB2B event is open until 31st January so please hurry.
We are continuing our focus on Traditional Homes with Chatterbox Cottage, which is home to Granny Bailey and Misty Crystal. (Unfortunately, neither of them was available to interview.)
This Winchester house is located in a quiet and slightly hilly neighborhood, and it is within easy walking distance of the beach. The Parade of Homes listing describes it as “Beautifully decorated inside and out,” and I feel this is an accurate description.
The porch is surrounded by a cute white picket fence and overlooks lots of lovely white Hydrangea flowers. If you walk around to the side of the house, you will find a charming patio area, complete with hanging lanterns, outdoor seating, a Jacuzzi, a barbecue, and a picnic table. And it is surrounded by a garden of lovely flowers.
There is also an upstairs deck with an overstuffed lounge chair that is big enough for two to cuddle. There is a little table beside it, adorned with goodies for a nice romantic setting – a wine bottle with two glasses, two candles, and a single rose.
When you go inside the house, you will find a very comfortable living room, complete with a leather sofa and matching chair, a fur rug, and a candle-lit fireplace. You will also find that several family pets hang out in this room, including two kittens, and a mother husky with her pup.
The kitchen screams of comfortable functionality. It is obviously designed for people who love to cook, complete with both a traditional stove/oven and a wall-mounted oven. There are ample cupboards and drawers, and spacious counters. I particularly like the collection of cookbooks on the counter, with a fruit bowl located right next to it. There is also an easily accessible wine cooler and a rack of wine glasses mounted directly above it.
The bedroom is playful and inviting. The bed has a comfortable quilt and throw blanket. There is a bear standing next to the bed, holding the moon on a string... which also serves as a lamp. There are clouds and stars above the headboard and a hanging chair in one corner. The walls have several pictures of the couple who lives there. There is a chest under the window, and it is covered with all sorts of interesting knickknacks. The other corner has a vanity with a mirror and all sorts of beauty aids.
The home exudes a very charming and inviting vibe, and I think it is well worth visiting.
Newly added Listings. Week of January 23rd. 2022
For the week of January 23rd. 2022, we have 5 new listings this week to share with you.
We are continuing our focus on Traditional Homes with one of my personal favorites - Kalokairi Gia Panta. It is an Alderley Trad, owned by Loretta String and her alts. One of the things I love about this location is that you step down several stone steps away from the road into a sandy lot. There are neighbors on both sides but you can hardly see them because of several large boulders lining both sides of the property. The backyard faces the ocean and gives you a lovely view of the sunrise.
The exterior is surrounded by a very realistic-looking natural stone patio with lots of Mediterranean-looking plants. The interior is decorated to the hilt with lots of old-world charm. It shouldn't be possible to get this much landscaping and furnishings in here with a 351 LI allowance, but owner Loretta has certainly managed to do so.
I sat down with Loretta for a short interview….
Who lives here, and how long have you been here?
“I have been living in that home a little bit longer than one year, It's where my alts and I have a roof above our heads :) Friends are of course always welcome and there's nothing nicer than sitting in the garden with a glass of wine and talking about everything possible.”
This is a beautifully decorated home in a stunning area. What is it you like most about this location?
“Coming from a country which has many islands and endless beaches, I was looking for a beach home, like I am used to in RL. I was very lucky to get this home from a kind friend who decided to abandon it and with some luck on my side, I managed to get it. I know nothing lasts forever in SL, but I am confident that this is my forever home in my dream location. Sun, sea, and the endless blue of the sea. If it wasn't SL it could be a place somewhere in Greece, my home country. It is also a coincidence that the region is named Pantelleria, which is an amazing little island in the very south of Italy.”
What is your favorite room of this house, and why?
“I love the living room the most. It's where I can curl up with a nice drink, listening to my favorite music and staring at the fireplace for hours.”
What was (or is) your inspiration for decorating this place and how often do you make changes to it?
“I am very much interested in interior design in RL, which is why SL is a paradise to me. I love many different styles, which translates into redecorating my home every 2 - 3 months. My favorite styles are Art Deco and Classic, but I also like to Mix and Match. I think there's no style I haven't tried – Decorating in a new style, searching for matching furniture, wallpapers, colors, and patterns – this is something I love doing. I often post photos of my freshly decorated home in the
Linden Homes forum.”
Anything else you would like to say?
“Bellisseria has been a dream come true for me, It is a privilege to be a part of it, to explore and enjoy all the beautiful areas, and to discover the creativity of my fellow Belliserrians.”
I went to look around the Food Court exhibition and got very hungry. There were many wonderful booths selling everything from kitchen units to croissants. I walked all around the shops and I was nearly at the end of my walk when I came to Madras. They had many food items but what caught my eye was an unusual teapot. The Ooty Turtle Teapot.
The teapot cost 189 linden and comes in White, Black, Pink, Seafoam, and Caramel, and is only 1 land impact. I treated myself to an Ooty Elephant teacup to have my morning cuppa in as well. The teacup cost 129 linden and is available in the same five colors and again 1 land impact. I bought the teacup in white and found I could tint the texture to match in with the Seafoam teapot.
For January we are going to focus on Traditional homes from our Parade of Homes list. We will start with Bridgeport, owned by Tess Tison and MazieBelle. This Trad is located in a really quaint and very scenic part of SL known as Oldridge. There is a canal running through this region, complete with several slightly arched bridges, giving a bit of a Venice Italy vibe.
The house itself is a Winchester, with a small add-on room that serves as a dining room. The exterior is adorned with several planters of roses. In addition, there are willow and leafy trees, ground covering, and flowers that collectively make a pleasant garden setting.
The living room has a comfortable sofa and a cozy fireplace, complete with a pot of hot chocolate and two mugs on the coffee table. It is very inviting.
The kitchen is the largest room in the house and looks amazing. There are vegetables on a cutting board, food cooking on the stove, and a coffee and pastry serving on the counter. I asked them why they chose to make the largest room in the house a kitchen instead of some other type of room. Their answer was, “Because we LOVE to cook.”
A small add-on room just off the kitchen serves the dining room. This room has a slew of windows and provides a lovely view of the garden yard.
The stairwell walls are lined with lots of photos and pictures. The staircase opens to a large bedroom area. There are double French doors opening to a large deck, overlooking flowers and willow trees. If you go up to the banister and look down, you can see there are two cats in the backyard.
The bedroom itself is a nautical theme, with a large king-sized bed, nightstands, and an oversized stuffed chair. There is a small reading area (e.g., a chair and table with lamp) in one corner and a computer station in the other corner.
When asked what was their favorite part of this house, Tess said, “Well, the whole thing to be honest. We were actually thinking of giving this place up because we had it for a while and were getting tired of it. We decided to redo it instead, to see if liked it more. We had a friend come and redecorate for us. Now the place looks totally different and we love it.”
I am not sure which they love more.. the home itself or the lovely area that it resides in. Maybe you should check out and decide for yourself which you like more.

The beauty of living in Linden Homes is it is so much easier to move home than in real life. I loved my stilt home but just could not get the Christmas feel, so I packed up and got a stunning Victorian home :) I soon unpacked and put the Christmas tree up, decorated the fireplace and it soon had that lovely cozy feeling, but I felt it would feel even cozier with some new curtains. I found these at Bazar.
I went for a plain curtain to blend in with the warm rich reds and greens of Xmas. You can texture change the curtain to a pattern and many different colors - Sand, Lime, Pink, Gray, Canvas and White in solid but you can also choose the transparent version if you like a delicate voile look, by using the texture menu. I will be busy decorating after the Christmas decorations come down but have made a start in the bedrooms.
The curtains are only 2 land impact for both curtains and wooden pelmet and cost 45 linden. You can edit the curtain manually and stretch them if you need them longer or shorter, and can edit the linked pelmet to change the color and or texture to suit your woodwork.
There is a song that really fits this week’s Christmas home of the week… “Let it Snow.” The words go like this… “The weather outside is frightful, but in here it is so delightful….” And that really fits Dallas Cozy Cabin – absolutely delightful inside.
The outside is also quite nice, with snow-dusted pines and fresh falling show. The family SUV is parked in the front yard, loaded with gifts to deliver. (Yes technically Christmas has already come and gone, but many of us leave our holiday decorates up until after the new year, and deliver some of our gifts after the fact.)
But once you wander inside, you are not going to want to hurry back out. Every room in this house is delightful, starting with the living room. The colors are rich and the sofas are plush and comfy. A white sled serves as the coffee table, complete with a warm blanket to pull over your lap. The wood trim of the giant picture windows is lined with lovely plants, and there is a nice Christmas tree in the corner.
The fireplace is rich stained oak wood and green tile. There are stockings hung by the chimney with care, making the perfect Christmas scene. There is a poinsettia on one side, and a giant wooden rocking horse on the other side – two stories tall.
If you go up the stairs to the bedroom, you will discover that it has also been decorated with care. It includes a very comfortable-looking bed, a Christmas tree, and a cozy fireplace and chair. You can look out of the large windows and see the glistening snow outside.
Back downstairs to the kitchen, which smells delicious as they are baking holiday cookies and have left out some hot cocoa for you to sip. And the dining room has a special treat, as it includes a well-stocked wine cellar.
I hope you will have a chance to pop over and visit it before the Christmas decorations come down.
