Chatterbox Cottage - Winchester
Landmark to Chatterbox Cottage
We are continuing our focus on Traditional Homes with Chatterbox Cottage, which is home to Granny Bailey and Misty Crystal. (Unfortunately, neither of them was available to interview.)
This Winchester house is located in a quiet and slightly hilly neighborhood, and it is within easy walking distance of the beach. The Parade of Homes listing describes it as “Beautifully decorated inside and out,” and I feel this is an accurate description.
The porch is surrounded by a cute white picket fence and overlooks lots of lovely white Hydrangea flowers. If you walk around to the side of the house, you will find a charming patio area, complete with hanging lanterns, outdoor seating, a Jacuzzi, a barbecue, and a picnic table. And it is surrounded by a garden of lovely flowers.
There is also an upstairs deck with an overstuffed lounge chair that is big enough for two to cuddle. There is a little table beside it, adorned with goodies for a nice romantic setting – a wine bottle with two glasses, two candles, and a single rose.
When you go inside the house, you will find a very comfortable living room, complete with a leather sofa and matching chair, a fur rug, and a candle-lit fireplace. You will also find that several family pets hang out in this room, including two kittens, and a mother husky with her pup.
The kitchen screams of comfortable functionality. It is obviously designed for people who love to cook, complete with both a traditional stove/oven and a wall-mounted oven. There are ample cupboards and drawers, and spacious counters. I particularly like the collection of cookbooks on the counter, with a fruit bowl located right next to it. There is also an easily accessible wine cooler and a rack of wine glasses mounted directly above it.
The bedroom is playful and inviting. The bed has a comfortable quilt and throw blanket. There is a bear standing next to the bed, holding the moon on a string... which also serves as a lamp. There are clouds and stars above the headboard and a hanging chair in one corner. The walls have several pictures of the couple who lives there. There is a chest under the window, and it is covered with all sorts of interesting knickknacks. The other corner has a vanity with a mirror and all sorts of beauty aids.
The home exudes a very charming and inviting vibe, and I think it is well worth visiting.
